“总”是出错！altogether照旧all together？

英语中很多长的很像，意思相近却不相反的双胞胎兄弟。这让很多英语初学者乃至英语大咖不警惕就用错。

比如今天罐头菌要给各位比力的altogether和all together，各位“总”是出错，十分头疼。

一.All together

all together 同时，在一同

（All together means ‘with each other’ or 'at the same time', and is similar to together)

All together 意思是“同一个时间”，大概“在一同”，和together的意思相近

当表现同一个场合时:

Put your clothes all together in one pile and I’ll wash them for you.

把你的衣服放在一同，我会帮你洗好。

当表现同时:

The two things fell to the ground all together.

这两个东西同时落到了地表上。

二.Altogether

altogether 统共，全部的，总的来说

（Altogether means ‘completely’ or ‘in total’）

Altogether意思是“统共的”，“全部”

There were altogether 5 students who attended the game .

共有5个学生到场了比赛。

The book was €13.50 and the magazine was €5.25, so it was €18.75 altogether.

这本书13.5欧元，这本杂志5.2欧元，因此一共18.75欧元。

三.总结

“all together” 和 “altogethet”两者固然读音一样，写法也有一定相似性，但两者在意思上是完全不一样的。

“all together”表现“在同一个场合”或“同时的”，

常用于句中或句末；

而“altogether”则是副词，表现“统共；全部地；总的来说”。
