一、couple 名词。意思是“伉俪、两个（人或物）、双、对”。主要是用于表现人或植物的“对和双”。couple还可以作动词表现“连在一同”。比如：

They are a newly-married couple. 他们是一对新婚匹俦。

We are a model couple. 我们是榜样伉俪。

I found a couple of socks in the bedroom but they don't make a pair. 我在寝室找到二只鞋垫，但不是一双。

Her name was coupled with his.(动词) 她的名字和他的连在一同。

二、pair 名词。意思是“一双、一幅、一把（铰剪）、一条（裤子）、一对伉俪（爱人）”。主要是指东西，并且这东西是由两个局部构成一双。好比：鞋子、袜子、裤子、手套等。pair还可以作动词表现“配成一对、结成伴侣”。比如：

George needed a new pair of shoes. 乔治必要一双新鞋子。

He handed me a pair of scissors. 他递给我一把铰剪。

Then the pair moved off and were lost in the crowd.然后这对匹俦走了，散失在人群中。

I will try to pair the glove from my stock.（动词）我会想法在我的库存品中把这手套配成一双。
