都是“国度”，nation、country和state有什么区别呢？

讲到“国度”的英文，小伙伴们脑海里是不是蹦出了好几个单词。好比nation，the United nations就是团结国的意思；像“state”，美国的全称是“the United States of America”,即“美利坚合众国”；另有一个”country”,也是表现“国度”的意思。那相反表现“国度”，这三个单词有什么区别呢？

1、Nation

Wikipedia：A nation (from Latin: natio,"people, tribe, kin, genus, class, flock") is a large group or collective of people with common characteristics attributed to them — including language, traditions, mores (customs), habitus(habits), and ethnicity.

Nation指生存在某一土地上的族群，是某一特定人群在某种文明意义上的协同体。他们有着协同的一些特性，好比言语、传统、习俗等。

我们平常说的“民族”、“国族”、“中华民族”就是如此一种nation的看法。

E.g. His story touched the nation's heart.

他的故事冲动了全体百姓。

E.g. The whole nation mourned the death of their great leader.

举国人民向去世的宏大首脑表现了深深的哀伤。

2、Country

Wikipedia ：A country is a region that is identified as a distinct national entity in political geography.

Country更多的指一个国度山川大地等天然特性，重申“国土、土地”看法。

E.g. Why are my eyes always filled with tears,because I love my country so deeply.

为什么我的眼里常含泪水，由于我对这片土地爱地深沉。（艾青语）

E.g. Don't ask what your country can do for you,ask what you can do for your country.

不要问你的国度能为你做什么，问问你能为你的国度做什么？

3、State

State (polity), anorganized community living under a single political structure and government, sovereign orconstituent

State指的是一个国度的“当局、政权”。

E.g. The state does not collect enough revenue to cover its expenditure.

该国当局入不够出。

E.g. A state has its obligations to protect people.

当局有职责保护它的人民。

以是，总而言之，固然同是“国度”, country是地域和国土上的看法；nation是从民族和百姓层面上而言；而“state”是政治和政权上的意思。我们和“nation”, “country”之间是天生的，天然的纽带干系，我们爱国，这是一种憨厚的情感。而我们和“state”之间则是合约的干系，我们让渡一些权益，构成当局，由其提供公用办事来保护和办事我们。
