一、empty 形貌词。意思是“空的”。是指空无一物、内里没有东西；也可以作动词表现“倒空、腾空”。比如：

The box is empty. 箱子是空的。

Give me an empty bottle. 给我一个空瓶。

She emptied the contents of her bag onto the table.她把包里的东西全倒在了桌子上。

二、vacant 形貌词。意思是“空着的、未被占用的”。常指座位、旅店房间、衡宇等暂且未被占用。比如：

This room is empty and that one is vacant. 这房间里空无一切，而那间房没有占用。

The seat next to him was vacant. 他旁边的座位空着的。

Is there any vacant room ？ 有房间可住吗？
